5.5 World championship 1999 - Torbole -Lake Garda _ Italy
In this computer graph is shown in one sight what happened during the races in Torbole. The lines show the average result after each
race. Every boat has different colour of the line and the text. When the lines are crossing the better boat in the end is the line under the crossing line. Marie
Françoise's line goes under all lines because she wins the series. For example Kandoo is 1st and 6th in the first two races and the average is (1+6)/2=3.5. With the next two races 4th and 6th the average is (1+6+4+6)/4=4.25. After the 5th race the average (1 discarded) is (1+6+4+3)/4=3.5.
In the end of series the average is (1+6+4+6+3+1)=3.5. With a 5th place (instead of 7th) in race 6 Kandoo's average would have been 3.33. The bronze medal winner Glen Foster had an average 3.38. Roni Pieper's Artemis X has a minimum of variation and stays all the way between 5th and 7th , he starts with 6th and in the end he has a score of 6.67. Jonathan with GBR 38 starts from 13th and ends with avg 12.17. Also Thomas Sprecher has a steady line, starts from 14th and ends 13.33. Gordon Ingate improves also guite nice, from 20th to avg 14.67. He gets better when getting older. The classic Chaje 2 GER-28 has a very good
progressive line, she starts from 27th place and goes up in almost every race and ends second of the classic fleet with avg 21.00. Dotted lines shows a race with
dsq and dnf. After the 5th race all lines go up when one race is discarded. Red triangles are modern fleet and yellow are classic fleet. Triangles with shadow are
the three best of the fleets. There are four groups after the 5th race, the first 5 compete for medals.
Chlika-Chlika 2 performed very well in the 4th and 5th race and is not far from the bronze in the end. After the fourth race the first overall was Marazzi's Alibaba
when they won the race. In the fourth group you find the classics with Piet's Topaze on top. Violetta 7 remains 32nd with ocs, dnf and dnc.
